Gülhane Park
A historic park by Topkapı Palace, perfect for a peaceful stroll.Gülhane Park is one of Istanbul's oldest and most historic urban parks. Once the outer gardens of Topkapı Palace and reserved exclusively for the Ottoman court, it was opened to the public in 1912 and has remained a beloved green space ever since.
Shaded by centuries-old plane and chestnut trees, its wide walking paths, seasonal flower beds, and viewpoints overlooking the Golden Horn make it a favorite escape for both locals and visitors. During the spring Tulip Festival, the park transforms into an open-air display of thousands of tulip varieties in full bloom.
Within the park stand historic structures such as the Alay Köşkü pavilion from the Ottoman era, and traces of the former Istanbul University Faculty of Medicine that once stood on these grounds. Just a short walk from Soie Boutique Hotel, Gülhane Park is the perfect place to slow down and breathe amid the city's history.
